PL3 X/Y and Y/t Plotter @
CE marking now brings the benefits of an isolated low voltage supply to the PL3; greater safety for operators and peripheral equipment. The pen lifts automatically at the end of the X carriage travel to avoid spoiling the printed results. Eight X time base sweep speeds are available when used in the Y/t mode. The electronic pen lift and 2.5V reference output socket are also included as standard; the pen lift may be driven externally by contact closure or TTL.
A choice of modular input pre-amplifiers make this a versatile general purpose instrument which has proven itself a reliable workhorse in a wide range of applications; especially physics and engineering. The pre-amplifiers are powered via isolated stabilised supplies, making them highly resilient to changes in the supply voltage.
Each plug-in module incorporates a multi-turn zero control to enable the pen to be positioned anywhere in the writing area or to back-off the signal by at least 100%.

5 pre-calibrated sensitivities, 100uV/mm to 1V/mm. Five position switched ranges (100mV, 1V, 10V and 100V/100mm) plus zero check position. When amplifier is calibrated in the ÷10 position an additional calibrated range of 10mV/100mm is possible. The span and zero controls allow continuously variable intermediate sensitivities and the pen to be zeroed anywhere within the writing area or within one full scale either side.

18 pre-calibrated sensitivities, 50uV/mm to 1V/mm and zero control allow infinite array of intermediate ranges and the pen to be zeroed anywhere within the writing area or within one full scale either side; 100, 50, 40, 20, 10, 5, 4, 2, 1V/100mm and 500, 400, 200, 100, 50, 40, 20, 10, 5mV/100mm. Span control, ×1 and ÷2 range switches for intermediate ranges. Switchable 50/60Hz filter.
